How to Create POWERFUL Testimonials That Turn People into (Repeat 💵) Customers

Fact: Potential customers read reviews before they commit to buying.

I want to share with you some great questions, conveyed to me by StoryBrand, to help you gather powerful testimonials/reviews so you can:

  • load them up at the top of your website sales landing page;

  • place them just above the "buy now" button; and

  • sprinkle them throughout your social media posts.

If you have a service business, these are the questions to you ask your customers:

  1. What was your absolute biggest challenge before purchasing?

  2. How did that challenge make you feel?

  3. What changed for you after working with us?

  4. What would you say to somebody sitting on the fence about working with us?

  5. Anything else to add?

If you have a business that sells product/s, try asking these questions when asking for a testimonial:

  1. Why did you purchase this (product name)?

  2. How do you feel when you use the product?

  3. What's your favourite thing about this product?

  4. Tell us what you think of the price?

  5. What would you say to somebody sitting on the fence about purchasing this (product name)?

  6. Anything else to add?

Why do these types of testimonials work?

They're not boring. These are boring:

  • "They give great service, and I highly recommended them"

  • "I highly recommend them because the product is great".

How easy is it to get these testimonials?

Very easy. The reason why is two-fold: people love to talk about themselves; and people genuinely do like to help other people.

By providing testimonials, people feel like they've done a deed for the day.

NOTE: a sale should never end with the purchase.

If you want to build a strong brand, you need loyal customers who will buy from you time and time again.

When you ask for a testimonial, use the questions above. You will show the customer that you care about them with this "after sales service" tactic.
