Your potential customer doesn’t really give a sh*t about you, on a personal level.

They may after a while, but not at first.

They are normal people after all, and normal people care about themselves first.

They want to know what you can do for them!

The key to writing a magical About Us page is to hook your customer in so they feel congruent with your brand…

Because people buy into brands that align with their ideal self identity.

Talk about your company values and express your brand personality on your About Page, so your potential customers know they’re in the right place 😊

Basically, an About Us page exists to answer questions your potential customers may have about you, to help them decide if they want to buy your product or service offering.

Use your authentic voice to describe:

  • Why you do what you do, and

  • How your offering solves their problem, or how it delights them.

And please include one, only one, call-to-action (CTA) button to guide your potential customer to the next step you want them to take, eg. shop in your store, fill in a lead gen form, read your blog, book an appointment.

Please know that people generally won’t buy from you because they don’t have the money to. They won’t buy from you because they don’t see the value in your offering as they journey through your website.
